Wow. Australian photographer Keith Loutit has apparently found a shooting technique that makes parts of Sydney look like they were built in miniature.
My mind is officially blown... I love it, and I have no idea how he's done it. Look for this to turn up in a commercial or music video soon... it's too cool not to be a Big Deal. Check out the Mardi Gras clip in particular.
As part of our recent application to the Out Of Bounds improv festival, we needed to submit one of our previous shows electronically.
Turns out it was the best thing for us, as we finally had to get off of our collective ass and upload a couple of gigs to the interweb.
So after months of talking about it, here at long last is some video to look at. Check out our recent Street Fighter 4 performance at the Comedy Spot in Arlington along with our Tower Defense show from Flashpoint in late 2007. Crappy camera work aside, we hope you enjoy 'em... come back next week for the Katamari show from this year's NC Comedy Arts Festival.
The basic idea is borrowed from this (beautiful) Mercedes Benz "Summer" spot, but I think the concept is used really well here. Short of having actual gameplay footage, it's a pretty slick way to hint at what the story might be all about, and it sets a fantastically sinister and sophisticated tone. I give it extra style points for bringing the levels in the elevator back around again for the end title. Smart.
Fans of the first Modern Warfare have been eagerly devouring screen grabs and guessing at possible gameplay options, but my big takeaway is more about the overall mood of the game; an approach like this one gets me thinking of a more grown-up, team-based tactical shooter in the vain of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, and that's an exciting prospect. There were high expectations before the teaser came out, and seeing it only raises them... hopefully the kids at Infinity Ward are set to deliver the goods in November!
Think the name says it all, really. Today was a rainy, crappy Monday, and life kinda sucked until my buddy Desmond sent me this link.
I'm big a fan of Time Warp on Discovery, but they don't have the same kind of fun as this clip... the dude with the shades and the cell phone made me laugh out loud, and I love the anticipation. Very funny.
If you're like the rest of us and you've never been to the site, here's all you really need to know: things are getting serious.
The most recent skirmish took place at a University of Maryland basketball game. Check out this story and watch the video... I'm looking forward to the next round...
